Carol completed her medical degree at The University of Melbourne and a residency at Austin Health. She commenced training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology at The Royal Women's Hospital and Wodonga Regional Health Service. During her training she developed a particular interest in the provision of quality and safety in healthcare and gained specific experience in this area as the Fellow in Quality and Safety at the Royal Women’s Hospital. In 2010 she moved to the Mercy Hospital for Women to complete a year working with the incredible ‘Mercy Perinatal’ team. In this role she developed experience in caring for women with high risk pregnancies as well as further experience in ultrasound.
Carol currently works in both private and public settings at the Mercy Hospital for Women and began the NEOG practice in 2010. Carol has enjoyed 10 wonderful years caring for women and their families and looks forward to many more. She strives to always provide the highest quality clinical care with kindness and a relaxed manner.
Carol is one of the Clinical Directors of Obstetrics at Mercy Hospital for Women with a particular focus on supervision, mentoring and training for the junior medical staff. She is passionate about caring for and training the next generation of specialist Obstetrician Gynaecologists and has co-ordinated the RANZCOG specialist training program at Mercy Hospital for Women since 2012.
Carol’s public clinical commitments include leading the 'Transitions' clinic (caring for pregnant women with substance use disorder). She also holds a public position in general gynaecology with a special interest in menstrual disorders. She is a senior practitioner within the 'Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic' caring for women with miscarriage and other first trimester pregnancy complications. Carol also works as an Obstetrician for the Victorian Perinatal Emergency Referral Service, providing emergency pregnancy advice to doctors, midwives and emergency care providers throughout Victoria.
Carol has 3 rapidly growing children and enjoys the challenge of keeping up with them. Her absolute joy outside of work is time spent relaxing at home with her family and her friends. Carol has recently found a passion for indoor gardening and shares a particular interest in environment and sustainability with her husband, Andrew.
