Lauren is a warm and caring doctor who thrives on providing patient-centred care with a calm, professional manner. She has a broad range of experience in many fields of medicine, including the domain of obstetrics and gynaecology.  Lauren enjoys opportunities to form meaningful relationships with patients.  She provides care from pre-pregnancy, through the pregnancy and into the postpartum period. Lauren regards her role at such a special time as an absolute privilege.  She strives to deliver excellent care focusing on incorporating patient wishes into evidence-based medicine. A mother herself, Lauren understands how vital it is that parents feel respected and supported in the birth process. Lauren also provides gynaecological care across a wide range of issues, including contraception, endometriosis, menstrual problems, infertility, menopause, and abnormal pap smears requiring colposcopy.

 

Lauren completed a science degree at the University of Melbourne before graduating in medicine from the University of Queensland in 2007.  She has trained at a wide range of health services including the Mercy Hospital for Women, the Royal Women’s Hospital, the Northern Hospital and West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul.  She has also spent 6 months of her obstetric training in northern Papua New Guinea, working alongside local healthcare workers to offer education and training in obstetrics and gynaecology.  Lauren continues to have a strong interest in improving the health of women and children in the developing world, having completed a Master of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.  Lauren has also worked as the Fellow within the Mercy Perinatal unit, where she gained unique experience in ultrasound and delivering care in very high-risk pregnancies.  She holds public appointments as a consultant at both the Mercy Hospital for Women and Box Hill Hospital.

 

Outside of work, Lauren’s young family keeps her very busy. She loves to travel and has chased the sunshine across Europe, Asia, and Africa in particular.  However, these days with 2 young children, she is just as happy enjoying some quiet time with a cocktail and a good book by a pool somewhere.
